A good start to the week visiting the site to see how well the enabling works are progressing at the former offices in Sileby. We’ve only been on site a week, and we are well ahead of schedule. Great to be working with an organisation like Homefield College who are focused on providing education, training, care and support to people aged 16+ who have a learning disability and/or difficulty, with particular emphasis on people on the Autistic Spectrum and people with communication difficulties
The main project will see a major refurbishment and re-roofing of the building to provide the charity with another important local hub for the community
On refurbishment / repurposing projects like this, there are always “unknowns”, so it is good practice to undertake works like this to remove as many of those as possible, before executing the full works. Not only does it remove risk for the contractors, but also helps project viability and gives the client cost certainty at the commit to build stage
