The barn conversion at Hickling Pastures is not far off completion, so, on a somewhat wet and windy day, our Glenn Slater and Dominic Richard Jeffrey visited the site to check out the progress, following their visit a few months ago.
Scope Construction has been busy converting a former “cow shed” into a luxury home, with 4 ensuite bedrooms as well as a large bespoke kitchen and dining area with spectacular views from ground level and two private balconies at first-floor level.
Since the last visit the roof has been completed, all bathrooms and ensuites have been fitted, the kitchen and utility have been installed, the second fix mechanical and electrical is in and the house has been fully decorated. An interesting and challenging aspect of the scheme has been retaining the existing concrete frame structure, which has also formed a feature-covered walkway and patio around the property, whilst serving as a reminder of the building’s former use.
This is the second project delivered by Scope Construction in the same location. The first is a new 4-bed timber framed home with sustainability in mind incorporating air source heating, solar PV and rainwater harvesting, achieving an EPC A+ rating.
